Pride Barcelona will be the Gay Pride of the Mediterranean between 20 and 28 June 2009. We will enjoy the city of Barcelona and all the diversity that Catalonia offers at an event which is preparing all sorts of activities, including film, culture, entertainment, sport and debates. It will end with a parade full of colour and a great free party.
The setting for this parade will be Barcelona's Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes and the Avinguda Maria Cristina, at the foot of the Palau Nacional. This is the venue for the institutions’ exhibition and the great Pride Barcelona closing party.
During the week prior to the 28 June, many venues in Barcelona and other Catalan towns will be hosting many other activities, ranging from the LGBT Fire! film festival LGBT to an amateur sports competition.

Cultural Festival (20th to 28th)
The Parade (28th - 6pm)

This year, Barcelona will host the Gay Pride parade for the first time, filling the streets in the city centre with people from all over the world, floats and artists, celebrating this new LGBT festival, which is the largest in the Mediterranean.
The start point for the route is in Plaça Universitat, followed by a parade along Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes towards Plaça d’Espanya. The floats will finally park in Avinguda Maria Cristina, where the Institutions display and the party area will be open.
The event starts in Plaça Universitat is scheduled for 17:00, and the parade will leave the square at 18:00.
Float Festival

After the parade has finished, at around eight o'clock in the evening, the floats will park in Avinguda Maria Cristina, next to the village with the display by institutions and collaborators.
A large bar and restaurant area opposite them will help you to get your strength back and enjoy the music and atmosphere of each float, while you discover what the village has to offer.
All the floats will link up to the sound from the main stage at 10:00 p.m.
Final Party
After the Pride parade on the 28th, at eight o'clock in the evening, we will park the floats in Avinguda Maria Cristina, where there will be a village with the display by institutions and collaborators, a large bar area and the Pride Barcelona main stage.
The floats will carry on with their music and party atmosphere, while you can see what the village has to offer, and have a drink or something to eat to get your strength back.
At 10:00, all eyes will be on the main stage, the manifesto will be read and a big free party will start, with live performances, DJs and a unique atmosphere.
